Multi Day Courses
What You’ll Learn
When a Single Day isn't Enough
The multi-day format is designed for agencies seeking deeper immersion into the criminal mindset, smuggling operations, and informant management. These extended trainings combine multiple courses into a structured learning experience, led by someone who lived it, beat it, and then helped dismantle it.
Multi-day courses allow for more case analysis, hands-on discussions, and tailored Q&A based on your team’s operational focus. This isn’t textbook theory, it’s firsthand insight from a former smuggler turned federal informant who helped bring down high-level drug trafficking operations across the country.
You can pick and choose what trainings you would like. Or you can select from the below suggested combos.
Suggested Multi-Day Course Combinations
Each pairing is strategically built to maximize coverage without redundancy.
Suggestion #1
Day 1: Full Version Confessions of a Drug Smuggler
Day 2: Drug Smuggler Course VS DEA Handler Course
This two-day training pairs the full version of Confessions of a Drug Smuggler with the advanced Drug Smuggler vs. DEA Handler course to deliver a powerful, immersive learning experience.
Day 1 walks participants through the full arc of a high-level smuggler’s life, from childhood influences and criminal evolution to trafficking methods, operational structure, and eventual cooperation with federal authorities.
Day 2 flips the script, revealing how informants and DEA handlers operate behind the scenes. Officers will learn how to think like a handler, manage high-risk CIs, and extract actionable intelligence without compromising cases or safety.
Together, these two courses give unmatched insight into both sides of the table: the smuggler’s strategy and the handler’s response.
Suggestion #2
- Day 1: 4 Hour Tiers of a Smuggler + Government Informing
- Day 2: Psychology Of A Smuggler Course
This two-day training series explores the full psychological, structural, and operational dimensions of drug smuggling from the ground-level courier to the turned informant.
Day 1 begins with Tiers of a Smuggler, breaking down the hierarchy of trafficking operations, from low-level mules to international logisticians. It’s followed by Government Informing, offering a firsthand look at what happens when high-level smugglers become assets for federal agencies—covering recruitment, cooperation, and how law enforcement can leverage insider knowledge.
Day 2 goes deeper with the Psychology of a Smuggler course, examining the behavioral traits, motivations, and risk calculations that drive offenders at every level. Attendants leave with a clearer understanding of how and why criminals think the way they do.
Wondering Why You Should Trust Us?
Who is Rich Laferriere?
Richard ‘Rich’ Laferriere isn’t your typical law enforcement instructor. For more than 20 years, he operated at the highest levels of drug smuggling, moving over 10 tons of marijuana, 1,200 pounds of cocaine, and millions in cash without detection. After being apprehended, he spent more than a decade as a DEA informant, helping federal agents dismantle major trafficking networks. Rich has authored books on his experiences and has trained thousands of law enforcement officers across the country, sharing the rare firsthand knowledge needed to understand, identify, and dismantle criminal operations. His perspective offers the kind of insight no textbook or traditional instructor can provide.
